1965 when David Shepherd published his first limited
edition print, the secondary market for sought after
examples his work has consistently out performed both
the stock market and average house prices in the UK.
His
first published print, the Arab city "Shibam"
cost £3.60 in 1965; perfect examples now sell
for £1400.
One
of David's most popular and iconic images "Tiger
Fire" cost £150 new in 1973 and they now
change hands for in excess of £3000.
Best
known and loved for his animal paintings, David has
also painted aviation, steam train and military pictures.
"Winter of '43" depicting a Lancaster bomber
was published in 1977 at a price of £150, recently
sold examples went for over £2500.
Even
his latest works have an exceptional re-sale value once
the edition is sold out. "The Ranthambhore Tiger"
a Giclee print on canvas in an edition of 55 cost £1000
in 2007 and sold out within weeks of publication. The
Foundation sold an example a year later for £2200.
