Zimbabwean artist, Ant Fynn, has an enduring passion
for wildlife and wild places, especially African wildlife.
Much of his time is spent in the African veld he so
loves, often with his wife and four children.
He works mostly in oils on large canvases, but also
paints vividly in watercolours. Intimate knowledge of
the wildlife and the sweeping African landscape that
they are set in, is characteristic of his art. He is
a longtime crusader for the preservation of Zimbabwe's
indigenous woodlands and the natural heritage which
wildlife depends upon.
Wild Africa's big game is under constant threat - whether
it be lion, elephant, Painted Dog, Black Rhinoceros
or the environment that sustains them. What legacy will
we leave our children? Artists are fortunate to be able
to record such beauty, but also have a duty to help
preserve it"
Outside of his art and conservation, Ant's hobby is
coaching tennis.
