Roy Keeler was born in Zambia and educated in Zimbabwe,
where he then lived for a period of five years, working
in some of the most remote areas of the country.
He then went overseas for a short period, before returning
to settle in South Africa. After five years of city
life, Roy once again returned to the bush to work at
a game lodge in the Greater Kruger Park, where he worked
for three years before moving to his own place where
he divided his time between painting and taking people
on guided walks in the bush.
Roy has exhibited in South Africa and overseas and
his painting hang in homes around the globe. In 2001
he moved closer to civilisation in order that his daughter
may attend school. At present he lives outside Sabie
in the Mpululanga escarpment.
