Mandy Shepherd (Born 1960)
Mandy
trained at London's Byamshaw School of Art and completed her
degree in Brighton.
She then lived and worked in Zambia, South Africa
and Zimbabwe where she had her first solo exhibition in 1980.
In 1996 she headed for the South Atlantic to write her book
'The Falkland Islands - an Artists Portfolio'. Commissions
for the military have since taken her to Bosnia, Kosovo, Brunei,
Oman, Iraq and Gibraltar, and to sea with the carriers HMS
Invincible, Illustrious and Ocean.
Her major works include a portrait of Margaret
Thatcher for the Fleet HQ, Portsmouth and commissions for
the Royal Airforce of Oman and The Army Air Corps. She also
remains steadfastly loyal to wildlife, travelling widely throughout
Africa and India.
